STAGE 1: 0-18 years
A new pine forest is started by planting nursery-grown seedlings or by allowing seed trees left onsite after harvest to reseed the area naturally. During this cycle, there is an open canopy allowing plenty of water and light to reach the ground for the seedlings to grow and become well established. This stage has the most diverse plant life, which attracts the greatest variety of wildlife.
