INTERACTIVE EXERCISES
Participants learn how to design, build and maintain homes and business to withstand wildfire damage. They learn how to develop communities that provide the best access for fire protection services, and defensible space to protect the community from approaching wildfire.

Information on fire-resistant building materials and Firewise landscaping helps stakeholders develop strategies that reduce the risk of wildfire damage to their homes and communities.

WORKSHOPS
Living on the Edge workshops gather professionals such as builders, planners, elected officials, and emergency managers to communicate the message that designing, building and maintaining Firewise communities is a shared responsibility.  Participants learn about wildland fire issues.  They discuss ways to fortify homes against fire damage and how to provide appropriate landscaping and mitigation in the wildland/urban interface.
