Participants learn how to design, build and maintain homes and business to withstand wildfire damage. They learn how to develop communities that provide the best access for fire protection services, and defensible space to protect the community from approaching wildfire.

WORKSHOPS
Living on the Edge workshops gather professionals such as builders, planners, elected officials, and emergency managers to communicate the message that designing, building and maintaining Firewise communities is a shared responsibility. Participants learn about wildland fire issues. They discuss ways to fortify homes against fire damage and how to provide appropriate landscaping and mitigation in the wildland/urban interface.

SPANISH VERSION
ITM has designed a Spanish version of Living on the Edge that features the same high quality video and interactive activities found in the original. This program, first employed by Florida, offers the growing Spanish speaking population valuable information that can keep their homes and communities safe from wildfires.
